Rim Fire Information
The Rim Fire continues to be active in the Stanislaus National Forest and is being managed by the Type One Blue Incident Management Team from the United States Forest Service which is in unified command with CalFire. On August 19, 2013, the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Randy Hanvelt declared a local state of emergency. On August 21, the Board held a special meeting to ask the Governor to declare an immediate State of Emergency related to the fire. The following day, the Governor proclaimed a State of Emergency for Tuolumne County. An evacuation shelter is open at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds and is staffed by the Red Cross. County of Tuolumne Declares a Bargaining Impasse in Its Labor Negotiations with the Deputy Sheriffs Association
The County announced today that it has reached impasse with its Deputy Sheriffs Association (“DSA”) during contract negotiations. The labor contract expired on June 30, 2013, and the parties have been unable to reach agreement after six bargaining sessions held over a period of four months. The County of Tuolumne is hopeful to eventually reach an agreement with the DSA. This is an important year for the County, as the County is trying to emerge from some tough economic times, and is determined to place the County on a sustainable future course. How to Appeal the SRA Fire Fee
Some homeowners are receiving double bills for the SRA fee from the State. As it turns out, the State uses both Assessor’s information and DMV information to send out the bills, so persons who have a mobile home licensed with DMV and an APN could receive two bills. Vision, Mission, and Values Statements & 5 Year Plan
One of the Board of Supervisor’s 2011 Goals was to “Develop Tuolumne County Vision, Mission, and Values Statements and complimentary 5 Year Plan”. The Board also desired to develop a Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. This overall goal was accomplished with adoption of these statements and plan on December 6, 2011. It should be noted that this is the first time that the Board of Supervisors has ever adopted such statements and plans. The County of Tuolumne is excited to announce the launch of a new program that we feel will have a significant impact on the promotion of our County. We have entered into a three year agreement with CGI Communications to produce a series of streaming online videos highlighting all our county has to offer its residents, visitors and businesses.
