Purpose

The Tuolumne County Transportation Council (TCTC) is intended to act as the lead planning agency for transportation projects and programs in Tuolumne County. It is the expectation that the coordinated efforts of City, County and State elected officials and their technical staff through the TCTC will bring about positive improvements to the overall County transportation network. The TCTC is responsible for developing a plan that reflects the needs, concerns and actions of all the agencies involved in the region. The purpose of the planning process is to identify and develop transportation improvements that meet the region's mobility needs, contribute to the economic health of a region and preserve the environmental quality of the region.

Duties

The current transportation planning duties of the TCTC are defined under the Overall Work Program as follows:

Agency Administration
Administration of Transportation Development Act Funds and the annual Unmet Transit Needs Process
Administration of various Federal and State transportation grants and funding programs
Intergovernmental Coordination
Development and preparation of the Regional Transportation Plan and Updates
Planning, programming and monitoring projects in the Regional Transportation Improvement Program, and processing amendments as appropriate
Air Quality Conformance
Non-Motorized Transportation
Rail Transportation
Traffic Engineering
State Highway Projects
Local Streets and Roads Projects

TCTC Staffing

The membership of the TCTC is comprised of two members from the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors, two members from the Sonora City Council and member at large, voted by a majority of the Board and TCTC Council members.

TCTC Meeting_Contact Info

Staff has added a new feature to our website. Past and current Transportation Council agendas and minutes are now available through the links on the right of the web page. Please contact staff if you would like to obtain a specific agenda item attachment for past or current agendas.

The Tuolumne County Transportation Council meets the fourth Wednesday of every month except March (cancelled), June (cancelled), August (cancelled) and November. The December meeting will be held on the 15th. All meetings take place in the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors Chambers located at 2 South Green Street, Sonora and start promptly at 5:00 p.m. The 2010 Meeting dates are as follows:

The advisory Committees to the Tuolumne County Transportation Council meets one week prior to the TCTC meetings. The Technical Advisory Committee and the Citizens Advisory Committee meets at 3:00 pm in the A.N. Francisco Building third floor conference room on the following dates:
